The
rest of the story - and a bit about a sheep
It all started in the Western Australian outback of
1912. Their founder, Samuel Copley, started an insurance company
specialising in cover for sheep transportation. Two years
later Copley, originally from Huddersfield, came back to the
UK, setting up both a bank and a branch of his thriving insurance
company. Domestic & General was floated in 1988 and is
now fully listed on the London International Stock Exchange.
1990 saw the introduction of Domestic & General Services,
a division aimed specifically at trade partners wishing to
outsource their mailing, call centre, data management and
data processing requirements. Since its formation, Domestic
& General Services has acquired an impressive client list
that includes many of the leading names in the electrical
appliance industry.
The
secret of their success
The secret is quite simple - no matter how much they
grow, Domestic & General never lose sight of the customer,
