What
is 'Asda Pets'?
'Asda
Pets' is a specially designed insurance policy to protect
pet owners against the high costs of veterinary fees, and
some of the other potential costs of pet ownership.As you
would expect from Asda, it offers very high levels of cover
for a surprisingly low, fixed monthly premium.
What
pets can be covered?
Currently, 'Asda Pets' just covers dogs and cats,
although they are planning to extend it to cover a wider range
of pets in the not too distant future.
What
am I insured against?
The key parts of the cover are: Veterinary fees of
up to £5,000 for each and every treatment this
includes the cost of consultations, operations, medication,
X-rays, dressings and lab tests; and there's no limit to the
number of times you can make a claim;
- The
cost of kennel/cattery fees if you are taken into hospital
for 4 days or more;
- The
cost of damage to third party property caused by your
pet;
- The
cost of trying to recover your pet if it is lost or stolen
(e.g. advertising and a reward);
- The
cost of your pet up to on death from illness or an accident,
or on loss from theft or straying;
- Cancellation
costs if you are unable to travel on holiday because your
pet is ill;
- Your
premiums paid for you if you can't work through illness,
accident or redundancy.

parts of the cover require you to pay a small part of any
claim. The amount varies full details are set out in
the 'Asda Pets' leaflet and in the policy document.

there an upper age limit?

under 'Asda Pets', you can carry on your policy for as long
as you like.
